Help in action

GH Hope & Help Foundation works in the field — in Racibórz and across Silesia. Our activities fall into four main strands, proven by years of real projects: supporting children and young people, helping families in need, strengthening local institutions and responding to crises.

1. Children's sport and development

Sport teaches children discipline, teamwork and self-belief — but equipment, tournaments and trips cost money that small clubs usually lack. From the start we have co-organised the St. Nicholas training tournament for the youngest teams of LKS 07 Markowice, the President's Cup at Arena Rafako and the Hubert Kostka Tournament — named after the Olympic champion from Markowice — which brought eight teams from Poland and the Czech Republic onto one pitch. Since 2022 we have also supported the Racibórz Kyokushin Karate Club, sending young athletes to many tournaments and competitions.

2. Help for families and children in difficulty

We respond directly where families struggle. Every December we answer children's letters to Santa Claus and deliver dream gifts. We take children from the care home in Samborowice to garden parties and events, and we raise funds for lasting improvements to their everyday surroundings, such as the planned “Magic Garden”. And when war broke out in Ukraine in 2022, we organised systematic help for refugee families — food, hygiene products, clothing and everyday essentials, delivered in person.

3. Strengthening local institutions

The soul of our region lives in its local institutions. We support volunteer fire brigades — such as the one in Cyprzanów, whose 140th anniversary we helped celebrate in May 2024. We stand behind regional traditions such as the equestrian Hubertus, including its 10th edition in Ostróg, Racibórz, and its return to the city streets in 2024. We work with schools, parishes and associations that share our goal: a vibrant, welcoming community.

4. Crisis response

When a crisis strikes — a pandemic, a war across the border, a sudden family emergency — speed matters. The foundation has shown, from the Hubert Kostka Tournament during the pandemic to its steady help for Ukrainian families, that a small local organisation can act faster and more warmly than a large bureaucracy. We keep a network of partners, vehicles and volunteers ready, so that when the call comes, help leaves in the same week.

How a project is born

Every project follows the same honest path: together with a local partner we identify a real need, plan it openly, raise the funds needed, deliver it in person with our volunteers, and then publish the results with dates and photos on our news page.
